What Paris is to France, Dubrovnik is to Croatia, a town that has always been an inspiration for many local artists; painters and sculptures in particular. This tour has been carefully thought out and is presented for art lovers and for those who would like to view examples of the wonderful art created by local people.

First you will visit the birth house of Antun Masle, in the Old Town. Antun Masle was a local painter who died in the late 1960’s leaving a legacy of art that you will see during this tour. His major works were influenced by the Art Brut movement. His work was extremely progressive and considered very modern and provocative of the period. You will meet Antun’s daughter and his granddaughter who are fluent in English and keen to share stories about Antun’s influence on Croatian Art. Antun's daughter is also an excellent pastry chef and you are welcome to try one of her pastries with homemade tea.

Afterwards you will leave the Old Town for another part of Dubrovnik – Lapad Bay. Here you will visit the art gallery of late artist Marjan Kockovic. His studio is maintained by his sons who are considered to be geniuses in movie production and also performers themselves. Marjan Kockovic has exhibited in more than 100 art events all over the world including Canada, USA, Europe, Russia and Japan over a period of 45 years. He is responsible for more than 300 portraits, over 350 sculptures in bronze, stone, wood and copper and also 250 tapestries. His masterful sculptures and tapestries have decorated the interiors of many public buildings, hotels and banks all over the world. Including examples at the Sears towers in Chicago, the Trelawney Hotel on Jamaica, the Storck factory in Germany and many others. In his studio you will not only see the artists’ great works but get a chance to talk to his son who with pride and passion will share stories and details of some of his fathers’ works.
